On the Menu: A Different Kind of Networking
This February, We’re Mixing It Up!
On the Menu is trying something new—a lunch and network with Magnet Triangle! This event is exclusively for Frontier tenants and our Co-working floor, designed to promote stronger connections within our campus community.
If you’d like to participate but aren’t part of these groups, we invite you to join us on February 24th for a networking opportunity open to all! Register for Feb 24th now!
Here’s how it works.
1. At the event, you write down on a sheet of paper something you need help with (aka “your ask”) and tape it on the wall, for example:
- I need a literary agent.
- I need to chat with someone who has started a technology incubator.
- I need to connect with someone at GOOD Magazine.
- I need to hire a web developer capable of setting up a digital sales platform.
- Does anyone have any contacts in Prague?
- Does anyone know a good personal trainer?
- Does anyone know how I can play a round at Augusta National Golf Club?
- It can be anything!
2. Each sheet will have a unique number associated with it: (1, 2, 3, etc). You’ll have a name tag with that same number.
3. Everyone’s task will be to look at the board of opportunities and select at least 3 people you’d like to connect with, in whatever capacity.
4. How do you connect with them? You write your name and “sheet number” on a Post-It note and slap it on their sheet.
Leading to moments like these:
- The idea is doing more than just getting to know each other, but seeing how we can help and support each other. It’s not who you know, it’s who knows what you want.
- Our ability to simultaneously pursue our own goals while being mindful and supportive of other people’s goals is fundamental to human life – so fundamental, in fact that we have trouble turning it off. – Clay Shirky
Magnet. It’s actionable networking for the 21st Century.
Due to the nature of this event, it will be hosted exclusively in person. We encourage all participants to join us on-site to fully engage with the experience.

What’s On The Menu?
At Frontier RTP, we are constantly growing, and hope you will come along for the ride! We developed On the Menu as a way of helping you and your business grow to the next level, whatever that next level may be.
Each month, we offer a lunchtime workshop on a special topic related to small businesses or startups. On the Menu is taught by a diverse group of experts from around the Triangle (some of whom started their business here at Frontier RTP!) in a small group setting.
Our hope is that these workshops will not only be rich in content, but spark dialogue, start relationships, and make your lunch break meaningful. Did we mention there will be food? For those joining us in-person, there will be a free lunch available. If you are joining us virtually, we invite you to bring your lunch to the Zoom. No shame in eating with your camera on!
We want you to easily access our events and webinars. Please reach out to us with accommodation requests at programming@rtp.org and we’ll do our best to facilitate.
Note: By registering and participating in this event, you consent to the recording of your likeness, image, and/or voice and authorize Frontier RTP to use photographs, video, and audio recordings containing your likeness, image, and/or voice in any medium for any purpose.
