On the Menu: Public Speaking
Don’t be shy about public speaking, learn effective tips alongside fellow entrepreneurs.
This month’s talk will begin with cultivating a positive mindset when preparing for public speaking, which is one of the keys to success with this skill. Gain a better understanding of best practices and habits that will prepare you to strengthen your confidence and be an effective vocal communicator.
Let us know if you have a short speech to present during the session for critique and tips for improvement. We are offering this safe space to do so.
In an effort to keep this event accessible, we will be offering a hybrid experience for participants. When checking out, be mindful to select between an “In-Person Ticket” and a “Zoom Ticket”. For those attending in person, we will be providing a safe, sanitized space. For those not located in NC or remaining cautious, we welcome you to join us over a Zoom.

Our Session Leader
Dennis Hering was a successful athlete throughout his youth with an understanding of what it took to be successful on and off the field. He entered college determined to continue that success in other endeavors.
However, during his sophomore year of college, he had a pivot of heart and mind which gave him a brand new purpose and focus. This new purpose in life ultimately led to a desire to invest in other people. Dennis quickly rerouted his career plans to focus exclusively on intentionally developing those around him.
Since then, he’s spoken at various Christian conferences, colleges, and universities across the country to share his story and inspire audiences with what he’s learned from his experiences.
Dennis’s energy and charisma make him a dynamic speaker for students and young professionals. He is highly skilled in social media management, marketing and brand development. He’s worked with cause-driven startups to develop, launch and market their unique brand platforms.
At his core, Dennis is motivated to help college students and young professionals find their purpose and refine their passions. He and his wife Kat reside in North Carolina.
What’s On The Menu?
At Frontier RTP, we are constantly growing, and hope you will come along for the ride! We developed On the Menu as a way of helping you and your business grow to the next level, whatever that next level may be.
Each month, we offer a lunchtime workshop on a special topic related to small businesses or startups. On the Menu will be taught by a diverse group of experts from around the Triangle (some of whom started their business here at Frontier RTP!) in a small group setting.
Our hope is that these workshops will not only be rich in content, but spark dialogue, start relationships, and make your lunch break meaningful. Did we mention there will be food? For those joining us in-person, there will be a free lunch available. If you are joining us virtually, we invite you to bring your lunch to the Zoom. No shame in eating with your camera on!
We want you to easily access our events and webinars. Feel free to reach out to us with accommodation requests at programming@rtp.org and we’ll do our best to facilitate.
