Let’s get creative

Remember the Frontier Community Coloring Book we made a few weeks back? Well, to build on this project, we now need your help in developing a poetry book made up of community haiku! Don’t worry, we will teach you what a haiku is and how to write one. This simple form of poetry can even be meditative!

We will start by giving you some different themes and then we will turn you loose to get creative! lWe welcome you to write as many as you would like and, if you are feeling really connected, to illustrate a picture to accompany them.

Submit your haiku to programming@rtp.org by Friday, July 17, and we will put them all together in a mini Frontier RTP poetry book.

You will need:

• Paper
• Pen/pencil
• Colored pencils/crayons (if you would like to draw around your poem)
• Scanner or scanner app (we recommend Simple Scanner or Simple Scan)

Join us (virtually) every other Tuesday at 11:30am for a 30-minute creative activity with the Frontier RTP staff. These FREE events are open to everyone. Bring your kids, bring your pets, or just bring yourself! The Zoom link will be emailed to you upon registration.
