Frontier Fam Creatives: Origami
This week’s topic is Origami, the art of paper-folding. Practicing origami helps provide mental and physical stimulation, improving hand-eye coordination, fine motor skills, and mental concentration. With everything moving online and the pace of life slowing down while at home, we wanted to help you learn an activity that keeps your mind active and your hands busy.
ICYMI, we are officially in the middle of Spring! So during this session, we will create an origami lily. If you master the skill quickly, go ahead and create multiple flowers to make an entire bouquet!
Gather the materials listed below and let’s get creative.
You will need:
- White/Colored Paper (square)
- Colored pencils or crayons (for white paper)
- Optional: Vase to put your flower/bouquet in
While creating our own flowers will bring joy, we also encourage you to support local florists during this time if you are able by purchasing gift cards or bouquets!
