CANCELED: Cruise Thru 2 with Boxyard RTP
After monitoring this week’s weather forecast, we have with heavy hearts decided to postpone Cruise Thru 2. This drive-thru event was scheduled for Friday, July 24. If you pre-ordered, vendors will contact you directly to arrange an alternate pickup time or a refund.
We designed this event with safety as the number one priority. Given the thunderstorms in the forecast, we are unable to safely host our vendors and visitors this week. We hope to reunite with everyone as soon it is safe to do so, and thank you for your support!

We are back again with another chance for you to shop small and enjoy local!
Friday, July 24 from 4:00-8:00 P.M., join us on the Frontier RTP campus for Cruise Thru 2. Seven Boxyard RTP businesses will be on-site to sell their goods, food, and beverages (AKA everything you need to get your weekend started). The best part? You don’t have to leave your car!
We have taken all the best parts from our first Cruise Thru in June and combined them with your feedback to bring to you an even better event! You can expect a longer course with better traffic flow, synced-up pre-ordering, and a refined system to let our Cruisers know when goods start to sell out.
The first 50 cars to show up will get some Boxyard RTP swag! Be sure to roll down your windows, get your goods, and sing along with our live band, The Simple Joy, as you “Cruise Thru!”

Blossom and Bone Florals | menu | pre-orders are available here | Blossom and Bone Florals will be onsite with their 1960 Ford pickup and handing off pre-ordered bouquets to Cruisers. Due to the heat of the summer, this vendor will only be accepting pre-orders. No onsite orders will be available!
Bulkogi | menu | pre-orders are available here | Charlie and the rest of the Bulkogi Team will be onsite serving up Koren BBQ from the truck.
Buzzy Bakes | menu| pre-orders are available here | Carrie will be bringing along “Sweet Caroline”, the cupcake trailer, and selling grab and go cupcake packs, specialty iced coffees and blackberry honey lemonade. Pre-orders are highly recommended!
Carrburritos | menu | pre-orders are available here | Look for Rae and Jessie Quinn under the EZ-Up where they will sell chips and their famous salsas/guacamole and baby burritos.
Fullsteam Brewery | menu | pre-orders are available here | The fine folks of Fullsteam will be selling to-go 4-packs and six-packs of seven different types of beer as well as some merch!
Medicine Mama’s Farmacy | menu | In order to place your pre-order, head to their website to select what you want, then use the code “BOXYARD” when checking out for 10% off the pre-order.
Wonderpuff | menu | Jackie will be selling fresh cotton candy in tubs, but the smiles and joy are for free! Wonderpuff will not be doing pre-sales so arrive early to the Cruise Thru to make sure you get your sugar fix.
The Simple Joy | The Simple Joy is a new band formed by four musicians in Durham, NC in the Spring of 2019 to create and play their own songs. The tunes combine rock/roots/folk/blues/punk/pop/county elements into a sonic mix that’s joyous to play (even when the songs themselves aren’t exactly happy).

Q | What is a “Cruise Thru”?
A| A Cruise Thru is an event that enables visitors to (safely!) celebrate small businesses. During this time of continued social distancing, we wanted to provide a safe environment for our growing community to experience just a sliver of what Boxyard RTP will have to offer in Fall 2020. So hop in your car, grab your roommate or partner, and cruise on thru to shop and dine with some local faves! Almost like a normal Friday night, right? Remember, stay in your car throughout the course!
Q | Do I need to pre-order?
A | Most of our vendors are providing pre-ordering for your convenience. We strongly encourage you to consider pre-ordering. Pre-ordering is the best way to ensure that the meal, beverages, or goods you had in mind will be there when you arrive, and will help keep our lines moving! Each vendor is a little different, so be sure to check the “Participating Vendors” list above to see who is offering what.
Q | Are masks required?
A | Yes, masks are required. All participating business owners and Boxyard RTP staff will be wearing masks, and we ask that once you enter the Cruise Thru, you wear yours too. If you are not wearing a mask, it is at the discretion of each business owner to refuse service. We just want to keep everyone we love safe, and that includes you!
Q | What if I do not want to buy from every vendor?
A | Totally understandable! That is why we are providing you a map ahead of time. Keep scrolling to the bottom of this post and chart your course. When you arrive at the Cruise Thru entrance, a Boxyard RTP staff member will be there to greet you and help you get your bearings. To skip a vendor, pass the car ahead of you on the right and continue till you reach the next vendor on your list.
Q | Will there be building or restroom access?
A | No, there will not be building or restroom access. For the safety of everyone, please stay in your car! We have designed this course for an evening of convenience AND safety. We will have a designated area for you to park and enjoy your purchases (with the exception of alcohol, which may not be consumed on-site or in your vehicle). We ask that if you opt to enjoy your food in the designated area, you take your trash with you.
Q | How long will the lines be?
A | To be honest, there might be a line. BUT, that is why we have live entertainment and a flexible time frame (4:00-8:00 p.m). You can bop right through the course with your windows down and enjoy the tunes! We appreciate your patience while waiting, and if you prefer, feel free to queue up a podcast, have a dance party in the car, or call that relative you have been meaning to catch up with while you wait. We also recommend arriving early to ensure your favorites still have everything in stock! Once these vendors sell out, they are o-u-t. We will update you on sell-outs during the event through our Instagram account, @boxyardrtp.
