Did you miss our session on creating a time capsule? No worries! We’ve got it all laid out for you here.
This year has been changing and moving so quickly, we wanted to help you create a time capsule to remember the good things, set goals for yourself, and see where you are a year from now!
Here’s how to make your own:
You will need:
- A small box or container
- Paper
- Pencil/pen
- Newspaper/magazines or paint (to cover your container)
- Glue or paintbrushes (to cover your container)
- Recent photos
- Items that represent you, your current surroundings and emotions
Step One: Writing
Grab your notebook and pencil or pen, and head to this doc to follow the question prompts. You can pick one question per section, or do them all!We recommend turning on some calm music like a Coffee Shop Playlist to fuel your reflections.
Step Two: Items
Assemble some items that have sentimental value to you. They can be photos, keepsakes, anything small enough to fit in your box. Make sure you only select non-perishable items, and nothing that you will need within the next year. Head here and scroll down for some inspiration on items you can put in your time capsule.
Step Three: Decorating
Grab your magazines, newspapers, paint, or anything else you want to decorate your box with. You might have stickers and ribbons too! At the bottom of this document you’ll see a couple of examples of time capsule boxes. Get creative and have fun!
Step Four: Hiding
We recommend asking a family member to help you with this part! (If you hide it yourself, you might be tempted to open it before a year is up). Make sure your box is well-hidden, then set a reminder on your calendar for a year from when you hide it so you can open it up and reflect on all of the memories you’ve tucked away.
Step Five (Optional): Share!
We’d love to see your creations! Tag us on social media at @FrontierRTP and use the hashtag #RTPcreatives.
