About This Event Creating a bar graph is easy, but can you make actionable business decisions based on that graph? Learn how to turn data and ideas into a cohesive strategy that supports short-term and long-term goals. On November 2, Dr. Joe Perez will teach us how to: • Identify and recognize the five stages of the visualization spectrum. • Determine how to leverage these steps into a cohesive strategy. • Differentiate between impact and influence and how these concepts factor into actionable data. • Apply the four-step iterative implementation cycle: Deploy, Discover, Discern, Develop. In an effort to keep this event accessible to all, we will be offering a hybrid experience for participants. When checking out, be mindful to select between an “In-Person Ticket” or a “Zoom Ticket”. For those attending in person, we will be providing a safe, sanitized space. For those not located in NC or remaining cautious, we welcome you to join us over Zoom. Game Plan 11:30am | Virtual | Doors to the waiting room open 11:30am | In-Person | Registration opens & lunch is available 12:00pm | Event begins 1:00pm | Go on back to work! Our Session Leader With advanced knowledge and certifications in IT and secondary education, Dr. Joe Perez brings 30+ years of experience to the stage as an IT/higher ed. professional. He was a business intelligence specialist at NC State University for 25 years and is currently serving as senior systems analyst at the NC Dept of Health & Human Services and chief technology officer at SolonTek Corporation. He has impacted thousands through his dynamic presentations at dozens of conferences year after year, across sixteen countries. When taking a break from work, Dr. Perez sings, plays the piano and composes songs. He has performed PSA’s and voice-overs for schools and other organizations. He also serves as speaker, interpreter, and music director to his church’s Hispanic ministry and (if any time left) enjoys publishing a monthly military newsletter. “I’m a firm believer that if I’m not innovating, I’m stagnating,” says Dr. Perez. What’s On The Menu? At Frontier RTP, we are constantly growing, and hope you will come along for the ride! We developed On the Menu as a way of helping you and your business grow to the next level, whatever that next level may be. Each month, we offer a lunchtime workshop on a special topic related to small businesses or startups. On the Menu will be taught by a diverse group of experts from around the Triangle (some of whom started their business here at Frontier RTP!) in a small group setting. Our hope is that these workshops will not only be rich in content, but spark dialogue, start relationships, and make your lunch break meaningful. Did we mention there will be food? For those joining us in-person, there will be a free lunch available. If you are joining us virtually, we invite you to bring your lunch to the Zoom. No shame in eating with your camera on!
