SUMMARY:On the Menu: Hallucinations and Confabulations: Is Artificial Intelligence Good for My Business?
DESCRIPTION:As we head into the second quarter, On the Menu is welcoming Chi-Cheng Huang, the deputy editor of hospital focus content for Dynamedex-EBSCO, for a powerful session designed to help you identify hallucinations and confabulations within AI.\nHere’s how it works.\nThe Artificial Intelligence Revolution is no longer a future concept – it is actually changing how we live our lives and conduct business. Not since the Industrial revolution (1789-1848) has there been so much talk. Some talking heads call it a bubble while others thought leaders contend that it will alter how we conduct not only our business but also live our lives. This “technology trend” is a necessary tool for businesses.  It is no longer acceptable to work harder but rather smarter with AI agents to find and converting customers, improve service quality, streamline internal operations, and make better decisions with limited time and staff.\n\nWhat are LLMs, prompt engineering, adversarial attacks, convolutional neural networks, transformer parallel processing, validation, and pruning?\nDo AIs make mistakes?\nWill I be replaced by an AI Agent or AI Robot?\nAm I prepared for the Artificial Intelligence Revolution and how will my business pivot?\n\nWith Research Triangle Park On the Menu Talk, Dr. Huang will walk you through value of leveraging AI with enterprise level of work – marketing, lead qualification, SOPs, analytics, follow up, training, and proposals. He will identify the pitfalls that lead to the ML making mistakes. In addition, he will demonstrate how AI creates the ROI, what to implement in the next 90 days, and which risk to avoid in terms of privacy, accuracy and over automation. Dr. Huang will provide you with the tool box to not only survive but flourish in the new world of the Matrix.\nKey Takeaways\n\nThe Risks: Identifying “hallucinations” and “confabulations” before they lead to costly mistakes.\nThe Strategy: Moving from manual tasks to Agentic AI – learning to manage rather than being replaced by agents.\nIndustry Insights: Real world applications across life sciences, biotechnology, accounting, finances and beyond.\n\nCome to this interactive talk and learn about how to “tool” up for the AI Revolution and the Matrix.\nDue to the nature of this event, it will be hosted exclusively in person. We encourage all participants to join us on-site to fully engage with the experience.\nGame Plan\n11:30 a.m. | In-Person | Registration opens and lunch is available\n12:00 p.m. | Event begins\n1:00 p.m. | Go on back to work!\nOur Session Leader\nDr. Chi-Cheng Huang ( https://www.linkedin.com/in/chi-cheng-huang-0bab805/ )\nCertificate Harvard Medical School / Emeritus – AI in Health Care: From Strategies to Implementation\nDr. Chi Huang has spent the last several decades as a social and business entrepreneur, senior health care leader, practicing physician, VC advisor and social advocate.\nOver the last two decades, he has worked as a senior leader at academic healthcare systems, a VC backed healthcare technology company, and an artificial intelligence company. Dr. Huang has received numerous awards for his community service, teaching, and leadership at Harvard Medical School, Boston University School of Medicine, Tufts School of Medicine and Wake Forest School of Medicine. He was honored to receive the Notable Asian Pacific American Physician in US History in 2021 by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He founded an NGO in La Paz, Bolivia to care for the children of the streets and help create three orphanages and drop in center – Kaya Children International.\nHe earned his medical degree at Harvard Medical School, cum laude and completed his residency training at the Harvard Combined Internal Medicine / Pediatric Program (Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Children Hospital of Boston, and Massachusetts General Hospital).\nDr. Huang is currently the Deputy Editor of Hospital Focus Content at Dynamedex, advisor to Arteria Capital, and Associate Professor of Internal Medicine at Wake Forest School of Medicine.\nWhat’s On The Menu?\nAt Frontier RTP, we are constantly growing, and hope you will come along for the ride! We developed On the Menu as a way of helping you and your business grow to the next level, whatever that next level may be.\nEach month, we offer a lunchtime workshop on a special topic related to small businesses or startups. On the Menu is taught by a diverse group of experts from around the Triangle (some of whom started their business here at Frontier RTP!) in a small group setting. \nOur hope is that these workshops will not only be rich in content, but spark dialogue, start relationships, and make your lunch break meaningful. Did we mention there will be food? For those joining us in-person, there will be a free lunch available. If you are joining us virtually, we invite you to bring your lunch to the Zoom. No shame in eating with your camera on!\nWe want you to easily access our events and webinars. Please reach out to us with accommodation requests at programming@rtp.org ( mailto:programming@rtp.org ) and we’ll do our best to facilitate.\n\n \n \n \n \n \nNote: By registering and participating in this event, you consent to the recording of your likeness, image, and/or voice and authorize Frontier RTP to use photographs, video, and audio recordings containing your likeness, image, and/or voice in any medium for any purpose.\n
