SUMMARY:RTP180: Music
DESCRIPTION:About RTP180\nInnovation. Education. Industry. These are powerful angles—and what Research Triangle Park is known for. At RTP180, speakers from our founding Universities, Park companies and the North Carolina community at-large, are called upon to speak passionately and authentically about what matters to them. The twist? They must do it in 5 minutes or less! \nWe ask our speakers to be intentional with their 300 seconds on stage. What perspective of their industry are they able to share? What are their passions? What would our community be surprised to learn? What case studies in North Carolina are cutting edge? \nThis Month\nThis month we are bringing in the experts to present their unique take on the innovations, research, technology, and creatives that are impacting Music, especially those working here in North Carolina. Join us to learn about the cutting-edge science and innovations coming out of the region.\nPrior to the start of the show, join us at 5:00 p.m. for refreshments and networking. We’ve got a great lineup of folks for you to visit with, including students working to form the Audio Engineering Society Student Chapter at NC State in NC State’s Music Technology program ( https://performingartstech.dasa.ncsu.edu/academics/music-technology/ ) and Second Shift A Cappella ( https://second-shift.org/wp/ )!\nWhen you come early, we will have complimentary popcorn, beer from Fullsteam RTP and Ponysaurus, wine selections from RTP Uncorked, and spirit-free drinks.\nOur Experts\nCheck back for our full speaker lineup! In the meantime, here is who we have slated so far:\n\nDr. Edgard Ngaboyamahina | RTI International ( https://www.rti.org/ )\nDr. Justin Mathew | North Carolina State University ( https://performingartstech.dasa.ncsu.edu/ )\nDr. Margaret (Lou) Brown | Franklin Humanities Institute at Duke ( https://fsp.duke.edu/ )\nGreg Bell | Orange County Arts Commission ( https://artsorange.org/ )\n\nOur Game Plan\nDoors open at 5:00 p.m. for beer, wine, snacks and an interactive networking hour. \nThe show kicks off at 6:00 p.m. sharp in-person at 800 Park Offices Drive, RTP NC 27713.\nCan’t attend in-person? The event will be recorded and posted to YouTube here ( https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLQWg0VBT7RCAlDnqUOhuBK0JI5uzVV6xC ).\nThe hashtag for this event is #RTP180.
